I wanna do some modding to Fallout: New Vegas, but I can't find my Bethesda folder anywhere. I'm running on Windows 7, so if anyone can tell me how to find it, I'd really appreciate it. Do not copy these files to the Data folder as with a normal mod.
I just reloaded Steam on a new computer and I can't find the folder to put my saved games into. Where is it?

Hi, since I have some modding experience so I decided to make this guide. This will add new content, mostly lore friendly.
Yes, one more repost, I've made some pretty big changes and removed unnecesary mods or broken ones since version 2.0 of this guide, remember that your feedback is essencial.

Note: FNV shouldn't be in installed program files.
Disable the steam overlay for this game.
If you're playing for the first time, don't mod it, play vanilla.
Requeriments:
All DLC.

These tools help you mod and optimize your game.
MO, one of the best mod managers, this overwrites files instead of replacing them, essencial. This TES5 version is more updated. Guide
BethINI, INI configuration tool.
During the install use the BethiINI Setup tab and select their MO profile via the INI Path setting. After Bethini runs the INI files in this profile will be changed. Read the warnings.
When the new INI files have been created the Fallout Launcher will run to complete the generation of the INI files. Make any changes needed, including ensuring that the screen resolution shown in the Launcher corresponds to the resolution used for monitor being used for the game.
Exit the Fallout Launcher, which builds expanded versions of the INI files.
FNVedit, for creating merged patches.
FNVLODGen, allows the creation of lods, which are sort of a long range texture. Download the 2 main files.
Loot, organizes the load order.
Merge Plugins, the engine has a limit of plugins, some heavly modded games need to use this to merge them, this TES5 version is more updated.
Mator Smash, to create bashed patches.
Tweaking MO
Check if archive invalidation is ON in the profiles tab.
Link, follow this guide to use MO to donwload nexus mods instead of the original NMM.
Click the Executables button and set the programs that MO will run: LOOT, FNVEdit, FNVLODGen, Merge Plugins Standalone and Mator Smash.
Extra Setup Steps
LOOT
In the Executables menu select LOOT/FNVLODGen/Merge Plugins Standalone
Next to the Arguments text field, type '--game=FalloutNV' for loot, '-o:'C:FNVLODGenOutput' for LogGen or '-profile FNV' for Merge Plugins, everithing without quotations.
Click [Modify], then [Close].
Merge Plugin Standalone
Start Merge Plugin Standalone through MO and then click [OK].
Select the Settings (gear icon).
Go to the Integrations tab.
Tick the 'I'm using Mod Organizer' checkbox.
Set the 'mod manager path' to MO's installation folder.
Click [OK]
Close Merge Plugins Standalone.
Install Mator Smash through MO just as you would anything else.
Extender
NVSE, extract into the FNV folder, NOT the Data folder. Expands the game scripting, used by most mods.
Create a new folder in data named 'NVSE' (if the folder doesn't exist), inside create a new text document, name it 'nvse_config.ini'. See the INI guide.
JIP LN NVSE Plugin, another extender, less required than NVSE, but still essencial.
4GB Patch, allows the game to use 4gb of ram.
Download and extract the contents into the FNV folder.
Run the patcher.
Use MO to call the game executable, not NVSE or the launcher. The game is now 'patched' to see 4GB of memory and will automatically load NVSE if present.
Fixes
NVAC, reduces crashes.
NVSR, during install right click Data and select 'Set data directory'. Reduces stutter. See the INI guide.
YUP, major bug fix.
Unofficial Patch Plus, another major bug fix using NVSE.
Throwables Fixes, improves throwing weapons.
Weapons Hot Keys, you now keep your weapons hotkeys after exiting the casinos.
Barton Thorn Acts Normally, now he comes running to ask for help.
Better Posture, no more crooked npc's.
Legion Explorer Armor Pouch and Mesh Fix, fixes a mesh bug with the legion explorer belt and adds a small pouch like the female variant.
Enslaving Arcade fix, you now don't need arcane to be your companion to enslave him.
Unisex Motorcycle Helmets, uses males use the female variant of the motorcycle helmet, since the male ones is very big.
Pre-War Businesswear Fix, after installing delete the esp since it's not needed.

Uncut, merges the most popular cut content mods.
Vanilla Intro Plus, improves the new game cutscene.
Eddie Hears An Explosion, Eddie now hears the explosion when the ncr reclaims ncrcf.
Tops Casino Neon Restored, the tops neon is animated.

Strip Wall Billboards, restores the strip billboards thus adding more variety.
Lucky 38 Poster, adds a poster seen in the initial cutscene.
The Moon Comes Over The Tower Restored, improves the quest, now you will have to travel to different places to complete it.
Terminal welcome text, adds a welcome text to the terminals.
Lucky 38 Lights, restores the lucky 38 exterior lights.
Prerelease Restored, restores various objects placed around the world.
Chief Hanlon Dialogue Restored, restores cut pieces of dialogue with Chief Hanlon.
Lieutenant Hayes Dialogue Restored, same has the above mod, but for Lieutenant Hayes.
Child At Heart Perk, restores one perk from F3.
Welcome to New Vegas Sniper, adds the sniper from the ncr seen in the starting intro.
Extended Dialogue - Vulpes Inculta, adds more dialogue to Vulpes which was cutted.
Wastelanders spawn points, adds more npc's travellling throught the mojave.
Quests(Optional)
Afterschool Special, when installing, expand 'Afterschool_Special_V201' and right click 'DATA', then select 'Set data directory' and click [OK], do that to the next mods that give the same error. Don't get the sortomatic version. Adds a new player home and new quests.
Beyond Boulder Dome, long quest mod. Install all files excluding the older ones. Not only adds a new worldscape but also new weapons, armors and creatures.
Deimos, good and short quest in a pre-war military bunker.
New Bison Steve Hotel & Lucky Casino, download the master file. Select the data directory. You can now be the owner of the Bison Steve Hotel and Lucky Casino.
Boom to the Moon, quest that sends you to the moon itself, how exciting!
Delay Boom to the Moon, delays the start of the quest, or the notification of the quest.
Autumn Leaves, long quest focused on dialogue on a pre-war library filled with robots.
Better Bitter Springs Raid, expands the quest adding more npc's.
Boulder City Super Showdown, improves the quest in boulder city.
The Collector, adds a new quest with a debt collector.
Eliza, will require a freeside open patch, which isnt anywhere to be found.
Tales from the Burning Sands, adds a ton of unmarked quests to the game.
Area 51, adds the Area 51 to the game, full of mysteries.
Dog City Denver, adds a new city infested with dogs. Get the main file, the update. The freeside open patch doesnt work.
Casino Heists, you can now rob the big casinos.
The Deterrent, adds a war between the BOS and the mutants.
Someguy Esm, required for someguys quests. Someguy is considered the best in terms of quest mods.
NVB I, NVB II, adds bounty hunting quests.
Bounties I - Immersive Start, removes the starting notification from the bounties mod.
Sweeter Revenge, get the 1k file. Retextures a gun found in the Bounties quest.
King of the Ring, adds boxing focused quests.
The Inheritance, help a old dying man.
Arizona, upcoming big legion focused quest mod.
The REPCONN Blues, adds a new relatevly small quest to the game. Get both files.
Imod emulator for ENB, allows enb to use the blackout effect.
Zion Trail, a new worldscape full of unmarked quests, very good. Get the main file and the patch.
Transcendence, adds a new mysterious military facility.
The North Road, adds a new worldscape with new quests and a new companion.
Novac Legion Quest, adds a new legion quest to invade novac.

MCM, mod menu, used by other mods.
Jip Better Recipe Menu, makes the crafting menu less clunky.
JIP Realistic Weapon Overheating, weapons now overheat and have malfunctions when overheated.
JIP Selective-Fire, select between single, burst or auto fire.
Grenade Hotkey, adds a grenade hotkey.
Weapon Mod Menu, better interface to mod weapons, allows the player to remove mods from weapons and see the mods that the weapon can use.
Immersive Minigames, better and less tedious minigames.

Vanilla UI+, don't install automaticly, select manual install! Fixes and improves the vanilla hud.

Textures
Neat Clutter Retex, download the ncr pack 7. Double click on the mod in MO's left pane and click on the 'Filetree' tab. Navigate to 'textures/architecture/helios_one' and right click on solar_reflector_lod.dds. Select [Hide] do the same to slavecollar_g.dds. in 'textures/armor/headgear'. Retextures smaller objects.
Precision Collision - Clutter NV, after installing hide triangle.nig in 'data/meshes/clutter/billiards' since it's broken.
NMC, download the small pack. Major retexture mod.
POCO BUENO, download the file to desktop, extract it and open it with MO, set the data directory and then merge. After that get the skeleton fix and merge it. Another retex mod, covers some stuff the NMC doesn't.
Textures Over Time, get FlagStoneWalls, HH_Sandstone, and Sandbags, when installing click [Merge].
Collision Meshes, fixes meshes. Allowing you to shot throught fences with small holes, get the main file and precision clutter patch.
IMPACT, different types of bullets cause different holes. Download one of the main files.
IMPACT - Compatibility Edition, makes IMPACT compatible with a wider range of mods.
Transparent Nuka Bottles, you can now see throught bottles.
Loading Screens Replacer, new loading screens. Get the hd version.
Widescreen Loading Screens & Menu, even more loading screens.

Flora Overhaul, get the fertile version, then the wfo update, after that get the lod patch v1dot2. When installing the update select merge. Rename the lod patch before installing and only install the poco bueno version after that select the data folder to set it has data. Adds more variety to the flora in the game.
Lucky 38 Climate Fixed, makes the interior of the Lucky 38 have a different ambient/weather, no more rain inside!
Dust Storms, beautiful dust storms.
HiRes Graffiti, retextures the graffitis.
LOD Noise Texture, improves distant textures.
Bathroom Poetry, beautiful poetry in the cubicles.
Vault 22 Overhaul, gives more life to vault 22. Select the data folder.
Creatures Retex, retextures various creature.
Ghouls Hires, better textures for ferals.
Super Mutants HD, download the 2k high. Improves super mutants textures.
Improved Cyberdogs Textures, get the cyberdog file and the rex file, don't get the no glow! Also get the optional file. Retextures cyberdogs, including Rex.
Chems & Health , get the main file and the optional ones.
Misc Retex: Misc, Magz, Skill Books, Chems and Health, Food, Lockinterface, Monis, Slave Ledger & Karls Journal, Typewriter and Ammo, Dynamite and Seed Package. Get the 1k files, and get the magz update file.
Minimod, hires newspapers. Select the data folder when installing.
F4 Nuka-Cola Vending Machine, replaces the normal nuka vending machines with the F4 ones, get the regular version.

Hectrol ED-E Deluxe HR Retex EVOLUTION PACK, when installing select the 2k textures and the spooky optional.

Budget Weather and Light, the only alternative that I found to RWLE.
Nebula Night Sky and Stars, better looking night sky.
Simple Street Lights, adds working lights to the wastes.
Simple Fix For Simple Street Lights, fixes some bugs in the simple street lights mod. Requires a compatibility patch for freeside/strip open.
NVInteriorsProject, get the core and combo files and the patch for the small nmc's textures. Install the core after that the other 2 and select merge. Adds interiors to buildings that where inacessible otherwise.
NVInteriorsProject Rewritten, install the esm replacer file and the ILO patch. Fixes grammar errors in the above mod.
A Room With A View, overhauls the lucky 38 suite.
ILO, get the MO version and unpack the file, then select it in MO. During the install select the ultimate edition, after that only select the Lucky 38 Suite and de-select the goodsprings shack if selected. Select the Deimos, NVInteriors, Bounties I and II Patches. And finally the YUP patch. Adds light switches, generators and improves the interior lightning.
The New New Bison Steve, changes the lights a bit on the Bison Steve.
OWB Path Lighting, Move 'OWB-Path Lights - Darker Nights.esp' to the 'Optional ESPs' box. Adds working lights to the OWB DLC.
Npc's
Ghouls Hires, ghoul retex.
NVCE, makes the npc's worthy of looking at.
Clothing
Book of Water, get the book of flesh and book of steel. During the install rename the second file to book of steel or else it will be merged with book of water. After that move all esps of book of steel to the optional tab. Retextures creatures and armors.
Wasteland clothing Hires, better clothing textures. Download the full pack and the fix, select the data directories and merge the fix after the full pack.
ADAM Reborn, download the main file and then the hotfix, after installing the update file select merge. Retextures Rangers and riot gear armor.
Durint the install de-select the alternative riot gear helmet and de-select the tropper module. After that grab this fix, that fixes a mesh bug.
ALR, gives the legion a new look.
Bornagain Combat Armor, get the 2k file. Retextures the combat armor.
Book of Steel Compatibility, allows book of steel to have better compatibility with other mods.
Chinese Stealth Armor Restoration, restores the invisibility effect, ported from F3.
Legacy of X13, get the patch 3-2, DM assasin suit and then the full - owb. When installing the owb at the end merge. Install the patch after the 2 main files, and merge. Retextures some armors that other mods missed.
NCR Civillian Clothing, retextures NCR civillian clothing.
NCR Trooper Overhaul, better ncr armor textures. Move the esp to the optional tab.
NCR Trooper Overhaul - Distributed, allows the above textures to apply to npc's.
PipBoy 3000 HD, great pipboy retexture.
Spice of Life, clothing superpack. Get only the main file.
Spice of Life Vanilla Patch, patch for vanilla bodies. Scroll down and select the patch. Get the loose file replacer file only.
High Res Male Body, I can't stand aimming guns and seeing those horrible hand textures. Select the manual install and set the vanilla folder has the data directory.

WotNM, adds tons of new weapons. During the install select the data directory. Don't install the cheat cabinet esp or the optional store plugin.

Laser Weapons, adds new laser weapons to the game.
RFO, weapon retexture.
WRP, covers textures that the RFO doesn't. Install the main file, then the smg fix, only install the smg fix after installing the unofficial gra patch bellow.
Revolver Retex, Single Shotgun Retex, move the esps to the optional tab. Fixes some bugged textures in WRP.
Bozar Retex, get the 2k version.
GRA WRP Patch, patch to make WRP work with the GRA DLC.
EVE, get the alternative version and select the all 5 dlc's during the install. Adds new effects to the game.
Ash Pile Tweaks, eve fix that prevents ash piles from stacking on top of each other, see the images tab to see an example.
WMX, get the main file, eve, dlc and wrp patches. Merge everything, after that move WMX-POPMerged.esp to the optional esps tab. Adds more weapon mods to the game.

Half Hansified Holorifle, retextures the Holorifle.
LAER Retex, select the data folder. Retextures the Laer gun.
HD One Hand Melee, retextures melees.

1st Person Weapon Animation Overhaul, get the main file, sneak and aim foley, improved iron sights, foward run animation and alternative auto fire anim, merge everything. Make sure that you have a fov of 75 in the fallout ini. See enhanced camera INI guide.
Weapon Inertia, now guns have a certain 'weight' to them.
Better Ragdolls, now the camera follows the player in ragdoll mode.
Interior Fog Remover, removes interior fog. Get the main file and ilo fix. Set FogMultiplierinterior to 0 if you have a enb.

Underwater FX, get the godrays version. Makes you not see clearly inside of water.

Ambient Wasteland 2, get the ogg version. Adds new ambient noises to the wastes.

All Weapon Sounds Overhaul, get the main file and the WMX patch.
Immersive Pickup Sounds, adds pickup sounds. Get the compatibility version.
Mojave Music Radio Extended, get the main file and the 1 and 2 packs, deselect all plugins except the MojaveExtended60.esp. Expands the Mojave Music radio.
Platinum Radio, adds a new radio.
Music Pack for Radio NV, only get the optional file. Expands the music selection of Radio New Vegas.
Gameplay
JSUE, major rebalance mod. Patches, get the nvce file.
ATT, get the main file, and the wmx and eve patches. Allows you to see your weapons on your back.
More Perks, adds more perks. Install the 3 main files and 3 dlc files. Merge everything and move all plugins in the optional esp tab.
Expand Sound->Voice->More Perks for Honest Hearts.esm and move the three folders into sound->voice->More Perks.esm and then delete More Perks for Honest Hearts.esm folder.
Install More Perks for Companions 1_0_6 into More Perks for Companions. Expand Sound->Voice->More Perks For Companions.esm and rename it to More Perks.esm.
Install More Traits 1_1_5 into More Traits. Expand Sound->Voice->More Traits.esm and rename it to More Perks.esm.
More Perks Merged, merges the esps of the MPM. When installing select dlc.
Gun Runners Arsenal Integration, removes the GRA tag. Get the main file and eve patch.
Ammo Ingredients as Loot, get the main file. Adds crafting ingredients to craft ammo as loot.
Quest Item Hider, hides quest items from the player inventory.
Pickpocket Overhaul, better pickpocket system.
Simple DLC Delay, disables the DLC info boxes when you exit Doc Mitchel's home, unlike the delay dlc mod it doesnt break LR.
Burning Campfire, better campfires. They now only start to burn when you use them.
