The Seven Kingdoms Mod
So i remember when the game came out i was extremelly excited that someone was making a Game of Thrones mod. But now i cant find.
Seven Kingdoms: Total War is a mod for Total War: Attila, created by Seven Kingdoms Development Team.
Description:
Seven Kingdoms: Total War is a complete faction and unit overhaul based on and inspired by A Song of Ice and Fire / Game of Thrones. The mod strives to accurately recreate and depict all major land forces of the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros using equipment, uniforms, and general aesthetics from the series.
Featuring 17 armies within 8 factions led by 19 photorealistic characters from the TV show, the public alpha allows both book and lore enthusiasts to bring the gritty combat of Westeros to life in Attila's multiplayer and custom battle modes. But, this is where the word 'alpha' comes in - we aren't finished by any stretch. George R.R. Martin crafted an entire universe in the books and series, and we plan on continually expanding and improving content over time to fully recreate this universe.

I’ve seen a few folks ask about this a while back, in archived posts, and haven’t really seen serious answers about the differences between both mods.
First, both mods are set in the world where G.R.R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire series (and other works) are set. Both mods are aware of each other but will not be using resources from each other. Each is good in its own way.
A few differences:
(A) The Map—
(1) the TSK mod includes all of Westeros and only a sliver of western Essos (basically just the Free Cities), while the AGOT mod includes all of known Essos in addition to Westeros;
(2) both mods have roughly the same number of provinces (nearly 1,500); but
(3) because the TSK map only includes a small slice of Essos, Westeros has way more provinces and feels way more realistic; and finally
(4) the map in the TSK mod is much nicer/more detailed/looks substantially better..people like different things in their CKII maps, but imo the TSK map looks much better than the AGOT map, which is what drew me to TSK mod in the first place (I’m a sucker for pretty maps). (B) Timeline—
(1) The AGOT mod focuses heavily on “recent” history (the time period from the books and the century or so before the books), while the TSK mod focuses on the Age of Petty Kings (during the Andal invasion) and the Age of Heroes (think the mythical Bran the Builder, Lann the Cleaver, etc.); however
(2) the devs for TSK mod plan to add other dates up through the Doom of Valyria, which would probably have the Targaryens on Dragonstone getting ready to launch their invasion.
(C) Features/Game Mechanics—
(1) the AGOT mod undoubtedly has more features, including dragons, bloodlines (although I assume that will change with CKII releasing their own official version of bloodlines), knighthoods, squires, direworlves, The Citadel, septons, etc.; while
(2) the TSK mod has a cool resource system (think EUIV) where each province has a resource (or two or three) that affect the province in special ways, they have adapted the off map China system from vanilla to stand in for the Freehold of Valyria, they are about to add 100+ unique buildings all over the map, they already have special buildings you can develop over time (like Dragonstone, Sunspear, etc. that don’t exist during the Age of Petty Kings), they already have a number of unique artifacts (think Valyrian steel weapons), and the devs have long discussed adding in lots of other features (including dragons, a market system, and variations on many of the other features in the AGOT mod).
Seven Kingdoms Kingdom Come Deliverance
(D) Overall—
(1) the AGOT mod is amazing, fleshed out, and with an incredibly wide array of special mechanics they have made for the mod. If you like playing in the timeline of the books, this is definitely for you (in one game as Robert Baratheon I quickly found our Cercei was planning to murder me, so I had her and Jamie imprisoned and executed, and took young Tyrion as a ward; when Tywin rebelled, I quickly crushed him, executed him, and made sure Tyrion, as Lord of the Westerlands and Warden of the West, was a key asset in giving Westeros a bright future instead of endless war).
(2) That said, the TSK mod is also amazing as far as I’m concerned, and that’s despite the devs saying it’s still an alpha. The map is stunning, and it’s also vast (having dozens of provinces in the Iron Islands alone, for example, is something I love; the map is so large you could play a whole campaign just trying to conquer one of the Seven Kingdoms). The mechanics they currently have work really well, and the ones that are coming will make it a superb mod. EDIT: The TSK mod is also way more stable.
(3) in short, the AGOT mod is a much more fleshed out game in a time period better known to most, but the TSK mod has a way better map and I think will be a better mod in the long run as features come out. I’ve spent plenty of hours in both, and I plan to continue doing so :)
Hope this helped!
